Denver Juniors RYL Season (Rocky Mountain Youth League)

The Rocky Mountain Youth League (RYL) is designed to strengthen the volleyball community and inspire even more young athletes to fall in love with the game. While RYL will now be hosted under RMR, all participating clubs will maintain the autonomy that has always been central to the program's success. The RYL is a stepping stone between recreational volleyball and full club play.

RYL Purpose: 

• The RYL is designed for players (14 and under) seeking a higher level of competition and skill development, but "near home, and relaxed". ​

• RYL mimics foundational aspects of club -- such as rules, competition format, and the spirit of teamwork -- while keeping things accessible and fun. 

• The program provides valuable exposure to the club environment without the time, cost, and stringent requirements of traditional club volleyball.

At Denver Juniors, RYL teams are built by age and skill level. We welcome younger players, in 5th-8th grade, at all skill levels. With that, anyone is welcome to try out for our RYL teams. Our practices will start the beginning of September and go through October 18th. Therefore, this program does not interfere with Club season.

NEW THIS YEAR: Open Evaluation Period

​

In accordance with RMR, new this year, we will hold an OPEN EVALUATION PERIOD prior to tryouts for both high schoolers and middle schoolers. These open evaluations will be run similar to our Open Gyms but will allow players an opportunity to showcase their skills to coaches in a less stressful environment than an official tryout.

 

During this period, clubs are allowed to make verbal offers to players. Official offers will be sent after the Open Evaluation Period during the Tryout Period. Even if players receive a verbal offer during the Open Evaluation Period, they should still plan to attend a tryout to receive an official offer.

**If you are interested in coming to an Open Evaluation for both RYL and the Club season, you only need to purchase one Open Evaluation slot and let a coach know at practice you are interested in both RYL and the Club season.

TO ATTEND RYL TRYOUTS:​

​

1.) Players NEW to RMR - Purchase an RMR Tryout Membership Here

          - ​But first, please remember that  RYL Membership is INCLUDED in the Regular 26-27 Full Season RMR membership.... so, if your athlete already plays in the "regular" RMR, then you don't need to buy an RYL Membership!

​

          - For the athletes who are using RYL as a starting point in club volleyball, the RYL membership is only $20! (Remember, though, that this membership does NOT cover "regular  full-season club" activities.)

​

          - And later, if you join up for "regular" club volleyball, $15 of your RYL membership will count towards your regular RMR membership!

​

2.) Returning Club players from the 2025-2026 season

          - Memberships from last club season are valid until August 31st 2026. You will receive a link to affiliate with Denver Juniors and renew your RMR Membership.

3.) Register for the tryout date that works best for you on our website.
